Description
Features
Generally, quarter rounds are placed between the base of the walls, in addition to the baseboards, and the floors to create a harmonious finish. They can also be used as a border at the base of cabinets and furniture, in addition to being able to be fixed to the walls.
Properties
Jointed eastern white pine is a softwood that is cut to size and which, assembled piece by piece, provides incomparable strength.
Product Features and Benefits:
- Light wood with an even grain that can be nailed or screwed without causing cracks;
- Industrial jointing technologies make it possible to obtain superior quality engineered wood. In addition to enhancing the quality, the joints provide greater stability and considerably reduce the problems of twisting and bending found with solid woods;
- Using exterior glue from advanced polymer technology has good resistance to water, static, cold and heat. Therefore, it ensures perfectly stable joints even in humid or light-exposed environments. Jointed pine can therefore be used safely both indoors and outdoors.
INSTALLATION
Special features and caveats:
It is strongly recommended to sand the wood moldings before applying a primer. This makes applying topcoats easier and further enhances the natural strength of white pine.
It is suggested to paint the moldings in a higher gloss tone than the walls. This will highlight the curves of the moldings while making them easier to maintain.
Changes in temperature and humidity (sunlight, heaters, fireplaces, or any other heat sources) in the home can cause resin to seep, even through the stain. Clean the resin with turpentine.
Apply a sealer on the 4 sides of the moldings to prevent the resin from dripping from the wood. (See your paint company for sealer).
Allow the wood to acclimate to air and ambient heat for 48 to 72 hours before installing. Do not store it long term in the basement or in an unheated garage.
